Shift Leader

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Shift Leader to lead day-to-day production activities and help ensure our manufacturing line operates safely, efficiently, and consistently.

This individual will be responsible for coordinating operators across the production line, achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring strong communication and accountability throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead production activities during the assigned shift
- Coordinate operators across key production positions
- Drive a culture of zero tolerance with LOTO and other lifesaving health and safety procedure.
- Conduct pre shift huddle/ meeting and provide feedback to leadership team.
- Ensure the line is properly staffed, materials and supplies available prior to production startup.
- Lead line startup, shutdown, changeovers, and shift handoffs
- Monitor production performance against established KPI and act when there is deviation from target
- Ensure production schedules and priorities are clearly communicated
- Identify production issues and escalate problems quickly
- Coordinate with Maintenance when equipment issues arise
- Partner with Quality and Food Safety to ensure product meets specifications. Conduct workplace inspections and audits and take a proactive approach to address any potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, GMPs, HACCP, food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Complete required production documentation accurately and on time
- Train and coach operators on standard operating procedures




- Maintain strong housekeeping and organization throughout the production area
- Help establish a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

- Previous leadership experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations
- Ability to lead and motivate hourly employees
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems during production
- Experience with GMPs, food safety, and workplace safety
- Basic computer and production reporting skills

Requirements

- · 3-5+ years leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- · Experience in leading teams in high-speed manufacturing environment.
- · Knowledge of OEE and production performance metrics.
- · Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
- · Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
