About Unico Power

Unico Power develops intelligent EV charging and Energy Management Systems (EMS) for residential and commercial multi-unit buildings. We work closely with property managers, residents, electricians, developers and contractors to deliver reliable EV charging solutions that support the growing adoption of electric vehicles.

As a growing technology company, we offer a hands-on, diverse working environment where technical problem-solving and customer experience go hand in hand. We value curiosity, initiative, teamwork and people who take ownership of their work.

About the Role

We're looking for a technically minded, customer-focused person to join our team as an EV Charging Field Operations & Technical Support Specialist.

This role combines hands-on technical troubleshooting with customer support and field operations. You'll help customers resolve charging issues, investigate hardware and connectivity problems, visit sites across Metro Vancouver, and coordinate with our technical team and external partners to keep charging systems running reliably.

You don't need to be an EV charging expert already. We'll train you on Unico's products and systems. We're looking for someone with a solid technical foundation, a systematic approach to troubleshooting, strong customer service skills and the willingness to learn unfamiliar technology.

Some days you'll troubleshoot issues remotely and guide customers through solutions. Other days you'll visit buildings, inspect equipment, assist with commissioning or work with electricians to resolve technical problems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

- Respond to customer support requests and troubleshoot EV charging and Energy Management Systems remotely and onsite.
- Diagnose hardware, software, networking, communication and operational issues using a systematic approach.
- Investigate connectivity problems using web interfaces, diagnostic tools, system logs and field testing equipment.
- Configure, test, update and commission EV charging equipment and supporting systems.
- Identify when issues require escalation to the internal technical team, an electrician or another service provider.

Field Operations

- Perform site visits for troubleshooting, commissioning, inspections, maintenance and equipment replacement.
- Work with electricians, contractors and installation partners to investigate and resolve site issues.

- Follow established procedures and safety requirements when working around electrical equipment.
- Document site findings, troubleshooting steps, completed work and outstanding issues.

Customer Success & Coordination

- Provide professional, responsive support to residents, property managers, developers, electricians and contractors.
- Explain technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical customers.
- Keep customers and internal teams informed of progress, delays and next steps.
- Take ownership of issues from initial report through resolution, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
- Manage multiple support requests, prioritize urgent issues and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to troubleshooting procedures, workflows and customer experience.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines technical curiosity with strong customer service and practical problem-solving skills.

You may come from technical support, field service, electronics, networking, electrical systems, automation, equipment maintenance or a related technical background. You don't need experience in every area listed below.

Essential qualifications

- Experience in customer support, technical support or another customer-facing role where communication, problem-solving and follow-through are significant.
- A foundation in technical troubleshooting, with the ability to investigate problems methodically and learn unfamiliar systems.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly to customers and colleagues.
- A proactive, organized approach to managing support requests and documenting work.
- Ability to work independently while communicating and collaborating with the wider team.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, follow procedures and recognize when an issue needs escalation.

Relevant technical experience may include

- Hardware, software or equipment troubleshooting.
- Computer networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP or connectivity diagnostics.
- Electrical or electronic systems,

controls or automation.
- Field service, equipment installation, testing, commissioning or maintenance.
- Diagnostic software, web interfaces, system logs or technical documentation.

Experience with EV charging systems, Energy Management Systems or OCPP is an asset, but not required. Training on Unico Power's products and systems will be provided.

Requirements

- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Reliable personal vehicle for travel to customer sites throughout Metro Vancouver.
- Comfortable travelling to different sites and performing hands-on field work.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

What Success Looks Like

You'll be successful in this role if you:

- Take ownership of customer issues and follow them through to resolution.
- Troubleshoot systematically rather than guessing.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and teammates.
- Stay organized while managing multiple priorities.
- Work safely, document your findings and escalate issues appropriately.
- Learn new equipment and systems and become increasingly independent over time.
- Contribute to a reliable, positive customer experience.

Why Join Unico Power?

- Gain hands-on experience with EV charging and energy management technology.
- Develop skills across technical support, networking, hardware and field operations.
- Work directly with customers, electricians and industry partners.
- Join a collaborative team where your ideas and contributions matter.
- Build practical technical expertise in a growing industry.
