Abacal Alta Ltd. is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Industrial Sandblaster to join our team.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of proper surface preparation, and can work safely and efficiently in a rapid-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

- Perform industrial abrasive blasting on structural steel, fabricated components, equipment, and other metal surfaces
- Prepare surfaces to required specifications and cleanliness standards
- Operate sandblasting equipment, including blast pots, hoses, nozzles, and associated equipment
- Understand and achieve required blast profiles
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality requirements are met
- Properly mask and protect areas that are not to be blasted
- Perform routine inspection and basic maintenance of blasting equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Work cooperatively with painters, foremen, QC personnel, and other shop employees
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining Abacal's quality standards

Qualifications

- Previous industrial sandblasting/abrasive blasting experience is strongly preferred
- Experience working with structural steel or industrial fabricated products is an asset
- Knowledge of industrial surface preparation standards is an asset
- Ability to safely operate blasting equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods




- Comfortable working in full blasting PPE and respirator equipment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to regular attendance
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- WHMIS and other applicable safety training are considered assets
