About Expedia Cruises

Expedia Cruises is part of the globally recognized Expedia family, helping travellers discover exceptional vacation experiences through cruises, all-inclusive resorts, guided tours, flights, and customized travel packages.

We are expanding our team across four Vancouver Island locations — Nanaimo, Parksville, Duncan, and Langford — and are seeking motivated individuals interested in building their own travel business with the support of an established brand.

About the Opportunity

This is not a traditional salaried position. It is a self-employed, 100% commission-based independent contractor opportunity for individuals who want to build a long-term business in the travel industry.

As an Independent Vacation Consultant, you will develop your own client portfolio while benefiting from Expedia Cruises' booking technology, supplier relationships, training programs, and local office support.

We welcome individuals from diverse professional backgrounds, including sales, customer service, hospitality, banking, insurance, and business ownership.

Previous travel industry experience is not required.

Our Hybrid Work Model – Two Days in Office Required

We believe that flexibility works best when combined with collaboration, continuous learning, and direct client engagement.

All Vacation Consultants are required to commit to a minimum of two days per week at their assigned Expedia Cruises office.

This commitment is an essential part of our consultant development model and provides opportunities for:

- Hands-on training and guidance from experienced consultants.
- Direct interaction with walk-in customers and potential clients.
- Participation in supplier presentations, workshops, and team activities.
- Collaboration on group bookings and shared business opportunities.
- Building confidence, product knowledge, and sales experience.

Outside the required office days, consultants have the flexibility to manage their travel business remotely.

Please apply only if you can consistently commit to two days per week at one of our four Vancouver Island offices.

Your Onboarding Journey

Our structured onboarding program is designed to help new consultants develop the skills and confidence required to begin selling travel.

The process includes initial training, booking-system familiarization, supplier certifications, and guided sales-readiness coaching.

An key early milestone is achieving your first three confirmed vacation bookings, followed by a review of your progress and continued support as you develop your business.

Compensation and Earning Potential

This is a 100% commission-based independent contractor opportunity.

There is no guaranteed salary or hourly wage. Income depends on individual sales performance, bookings, and the development of a sustainable client portfolio.

Additional commission opportunities may arise through cruise sales, vacation packages, travel insurance where authorized, group bookings, and repeat customers.

There is no fixed cap on commission earnings.
