HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER

We are currently seeking a safety professional to work on commercial projects in the Greater Toronto Area.

The ideal candidate must have superb communication abilities and sound management skills. Previous experience as a safety officer in the mechanical commercial sector is required. Reporting to the VP of Safety, duties include;

- Participate in the ongoing management of the company’s COR-certified safety program across all construction sites.
- Communicate and work with site supervisor to eliminate any workplace hazards.
- Creating Safety Boards for all new construction sites
- Give office support to Field Safety Officer while he is conducting site inspections.
- Participate in investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses
- Assist with safety orientation and ongoing training for workers and subcontractors.
- Assist in creating site specific safety plans




- Ensure all construction projects are operating in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WSIB, and applicable regulations.
- Representing company at meetings when required

Position requirements:

- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of health and safety experience in the construction industry. Mechanical experience is preferred
- Familiarity with provincial health and safety legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills in all areas
- Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Safety certifications [e.g., CHSO, CRSP] are a strong asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
