Position Summary

The Rail Facilities Assistant is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient loading and unloading of railcars at MobilGrain's Delisle Seed Cleaning Plant.

Working as part of the operations team, the Rail Facilities Assistant will assist with railcar loading and unloading activities, monitoring equipment, and maintaining safe working conditions throughout the facility.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to workplace safety, be mechanically inclined, and be comfortable working around railcars, railway tracks, and industrial equipment. Previous experience working around railcars, railway switches, or grain-handling facilities would be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the safe and efficient loading and unloading of railcars at the Seed Cleaning Plant.




- Prepare railcars for loading and unloading, including opening and closing railcar hatches, doors, and gates as required.
- Assist with the positioning and securement of railcars under the direction of qualified railway personnel.
- Work safely around railway tracks, switches, railcars, and other railway equipment.
- Assist with the operation and monitoring of grain-handling equipment, including conveyors and loading systems.
- Monitor loading and unloading activities to help prevent spills, overfilling, and equipment damage.
- Perform basic equipment inspections and report mechanical issues, defects, or safety concerns.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including rail loading areas, tracks, and surrounding facilities.
- Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and applicable railway safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with plant operators, railway crews, and other team members to coordinate daily activities.
- Assist with general plant operations, maintenance, and other duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- Grade 12 Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Driver's License required.




- Previous experience in grain handling, agriculture, industrial operations, or railway facilities is considered an asset.
- Experience working around railcars, railway switches, or rail loading and unloading operations is strongly preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify equipment or operational concerns.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and industrial equipment.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and complete required safety and operational training.

Work Schedule

- Full-time, permanent position based in Delisle, Saskatchewan.
- Monday to Friday schedule with overtime available based on operational requirements.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Experience

- Railcar loading/unloading: Preferred
- Railway or grain-handling operations: An asset
- Industrial or agricultural operations: An asset

License/Certification

- Valid Driver's License (required)
- Railway safety or switching training (an asset)
