Overview
On Behalf of our client, a well known and respected Show Barn on the A Circuit, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Show Groom to join our team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the highest standard of horse care, thrive in a fast-paced show environment, and be comfortable traveling between Ontario (Caledon, Erin, Ottawa) States (Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, and Florida). This is a hands-on role requiring strong horse management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a high-performance team.

Duties

- Provide daily care for show horses, including feeding, grooming, tacking, and bathing.
- Maintain horses’ overall health and wellbeing, including administering basic first aid and following veterinary/farrier instructions.
- Manage and prepare horses for lessons, training, and competition.
- Lunge when required.
- Keep tack, equipment, and grooming supplies organized and show-ready.
- Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized stalls, aisles, and workspaces.
- Coordinate with Coach, Trainer, Riders.
- Travel with horses to shows and between seasonal locations (Ontario/Florida).
- Handle horses professionally in high-pressure environments such as show rings and warm-up areas.
- Support with loading/unloading, shipping prep, and managing show schedules.

Experience

- Minimum 2+ years of grooming experience at the A Circuit or equivalent level.
- Strong horse handling and management skills.




- Highly organized with the ability to prepare horses to show-ring standard. (braiding and clipping NOT required)
- Knowledge of equine health, nutrition, and conditioning.
- Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of long show days.
- Valid passport and ability to travel between Canada and the USA.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
- Must be reliable, professional, and passionate about horse care.

Work Environment & Schedule

- Showing in Ontario is between Caledon, Erin, and Ottawa during the Canadian show season. Michigan, Kentucky and Wilmington Ohio occaisionally, and Ocala,Florida for the winter circuit.
- Long hours, weekends, and holidays are required during show season. :( Sorry - at least we all work them together)
- Accommodations when travelling provided.
- Working out of our Home Barn when not showing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150.00-$200.00 per day
