We are currently seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated English Tutors to join our growing teaching team.

Job Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic English Tutors who can help elementary and high school students strengthen their reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have strong English language proficiency, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt lessons to different learning levels and academic goals.

Tutors will provide personalized instruction in one-on-one, semi-private, and small-group settings, helping students build confidence and achieve measurable academic progress.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging, structured English lessons tailored to students' grade levels and individual learning needs.
- Teach reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, essay writing, and creative writing.
- Support students with school assignments, homework, tests, and exam preparation.
- Help students develop critical thinking, analytical reading, and effective written communication skills.
- Assess students' strengths and areas for improvement and develop personalized learning strategies.
- Provide constructive feedback and maintain regular student progress reports.
- Create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.




- Communicate effectively with the academic team regarding student progress and learning needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent knowledge of English grammar, reading comprehension, and academic writing.
- Ability to teach and communicate effectively with elementary and/or secondary school students.
- Strong lesson-planning, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Patience, professionalism, and a genuine passion for education.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to students with different learning styles and abilities.

Preferred:

- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or working with children and teenagers.
- Familiarity with the Ontario English curriculum.
- Experience teaching essay writing, literary analysis, and high school English.
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation is a strong asset.
- Experience preparing students for OSSLT, SSAT, or other academic assessments.
- Additional language skills, such as Mandarin, French, Spanish, or Japanese, are considered an asset.
