About us
Rocky Mountain Prefabs builds cabins and amenity buildings inside our shop, faster and more precisely than traditional site construction. We’re a smaller, hands-on team heading into a strong pipeline of new projects, and we need a project manager who keeps builds moving and gets them out the door on schedule.
Why this role matters
In prefab, speed is everything. When materials arrive late or trades aren’t booked, the whole shop waits. You’ll own everything between a signed contract and a finished build leaving our shop, so the production team always has what it needs, when it needs it.
What you’ll do
- Take over each project at handoff from a signed fit and finish schedule and own it through delivery
- Order all materials, track lead times, and confirm deliveries are correct and on time
- Get quotes from suppliers and sub-trades quickly, and schedule trades to match the shop’s production schedule
- Build and maintain project schedules, and flag delays before they become problems
- Manage change orders: price them, get client sign-off, and make sure nothing starts until it’s paid for
- Be the client’s main contact during production
- Work closely with the shop foreman and ownership in weekly production meetings
- Track project budgets and costs against estimates
What you bring
- 3+ years of project management, coordination, or purchasing experience in residential construction, modular/panelized building, or a production or fabrication shop
- Solid knowledge of building materials, suppliers, and sub-trades in the Red Deer area
- Organized, fast, and follow-through driven. You don’t let things slide.
- Comfortable reading drawings and building material takeoffs
- Confident communicating with clients, vendors, and trades
- Experience with scheduling or project management software is an asset
- Valid driver’s license
What we offer
- Salary: $65,000–$80,000 depending on experience
- Benefit package
- Real ownership of your projects and direct access to the owners
- A chance to help build the systems of a growing company
Start date: We expect the role to begin in late November or early December 2026, timed with the start of our upcoming projects.
