Located in downtown Toronto, our recent 223 room hotel will feature multiple restaurants, bars, a spa, and approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space. Join our opening culinary team and help create memorable dining and event experiences for our guests.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, the Server provides attentive, personalized food and beverage service in our restaurants and lounges, guiding guests through the menu and ensuring a seamless dining experience. During pre-opening, this role will participate in training, outlet or event setup and opening-readiness activities while learning Le Méridien and Marriott service standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Welcome guests, introduce menus and specials, and offer informed food, wine and beverage recommendations.

· Take and enter orders accurately, confirming preferences and communicating allergies and dietary requirements to the kitchen and bar.

· Serve food and beverages according to the sequence of service, maintaining appropriate timing and presentation.

· Check guest satisfaction throughout the meal, anticipate needs and respond promptly to requests.

· Apply responsible alcohol service practices and follow hotel procedures for checking identification and escalating concerns.

· Prepare accurate guest bills, process payments and room charges, and follow cash-handling procedures.

· Set, clear and reset tables, replenish supplies and complete opening and closing duties.

· Coordinate with hosts, server attendants, bartenders and the culinary team to keep service running smoothly.

· Address routine guest concerns professionally and refer unresolved matters to a supervisor or manager.

· Maintain clean, organized service areas and follow food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures.





· Participate in pre-opening training, menu tastings, service rehearsals and outlet setup.

Qualifications and Experience

· Previous serving experience in an upscale restaurant or full-service hotel is preferred.

· Strong knowledge of table service, menu presentation and wine and beverage service.

· Valid Smart Serve certification.

· Confidence using point-of-sale systems and handling guest bills and payments accurately.

· Warm communication skills and the ability to manage several tables while maintaining attention to detail.

· Ability to communicate dietary requirements clearly and follow allergy-handling procedures.

· Ability to perform the duties of the role, including standing and walking for extended periods and carrying food, beverages and loaded service trays, with accommodation where required.

· Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays, based on operational needs.
