Position Purpose

The Financial Controller plays a key strategic and operational role in the company's financial management. This individual is responsible for the full scope of financial, accounting, and internal control activities within a multi-project, high-growth setting, while also playing a decisive role in optimizing processes and systems, contributing ideas and recommendations to advance the accounting function and support the organization's ongoing digital transformation.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the full accounting cycle (general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, G/L, A/R, A/P and Payroll)

- Produce monthly and annual financial statements and other financial reports

- Monitor project costs and analyze variances

- Supervise the accounting team

- Manage and optimize cash flow

- Implement and execute percentage of completion accounting (WIP) process

- Implement cost control measures to improve operational efficiency

- Coordinate external audits

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team

- Develop and mentor team members





- Ensure team members comply with financial policies and procedures

- Oversee internal financial controls and accounting processes, and ensure compliance with tax obligations

- Coordinate the financial planning and budgeting process, analyze results, and adjust forecasts

- Design, implement, and continuously improve financial management processes

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Business Administration

- CPA designation

- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Controller or Finance Director

- Experience implementing an ERP system considered an asset

- Positive leadership skills with the ability to mobilize, manage change and engage teams

- Advanced knowledge of accounting and taxation

- Experience with project-based accounting and WIP considered an asset

- Experience in the construction industry considered an asset

Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
