Job Overview
The Cook will support the daily food service operations at the Schubert Centre, including the coffee shop, Meals on Wheels program, catering, and special events. This is a hands-on position in a community-focused kitchen that requires flexibility, good organization, and the ability to manage multiple food preparation tasks in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared with attention to quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage practices.
- Help ensure meals and catering orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with meal preparation for special events or catering services as needed.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, checking product quality, and storing supplies appropriately.
- Comfortable with daily meal preparation, bulk cooking, catering, and event menus.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and dishwashing areas.




- Adhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines within the kitchen.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in meal preparation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
