Build backend applications and data pipelines as a Staff Software Engineer at Marqeta, working remotely from Ontario or British Columbia. The Program Experience team is scaling Marqeta’s Customer Migration Platform. This experienced engineering role focuses on Java and Python, scalable APIs, cloud native applications, and data integration. You will support software delivery from design through operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain server-side applications and microservices
- Build scalable APIs and cloud native applications
- Develop data pipelines, ELT processes, and integration solutions
- Optimize backend code and databases for performance
- Monitor production systems and participate in incident response

Requirements:
- Eight years of software engineering and data experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Robust AWS, Python, Java, or Scala expertise
- Experience with Fivetran, Airflow, and modern databases
- Experience operating containerized cloud workloads such as Kubernetes Apply backend engineering, AWS, data pipeline, and database expertise to Marqeta’s Customer Migration Platform.
