Meet The Lotus: a fresh, fun, and whimsical magazine for a new generation of readers. We're bringing together stories, culture, curiosities, humour, and the little things that make life interesting, all wrapped up in a creative and distinctive visual identity.

We're building something special, and we're looking for a Magazine Creative Director to help bring our vision to life!

If you're the kind of person who notices beautiful fonts everywhere or believes that even the smallest design details matter, you might be our person.

What You'll Do

As our Creative Director, you'll help shape the look, feel, and personality of The Lotus across print, digital, and social media. You'll work alongside our editorial and creative teams to turn ideas into something readers can't wait to pick up, scroll through, and share.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Set the vibe: Help establish and maintain The Lotus's visual identity, from typography and colour palettes to layouts, illustrations, and graphics.
- Bring ideas to life: Design and review magazine spreads, digital layouts, promotional graphics, and other creative materials.
- Lead the creative process: Collaborate with designers and other creative team members, share feedback, and help turn big ideas into polished final products.
- Make it look good everywhere: Help ensure our magazine looks great across print, websites, mobile devices, and social media.
- Work across teams: Collaborate with editorial and marketing to make sure our visuals complement our stories and connect with our audience.
- Experiment and innovate: Bring fresh ideas to the table, explore new design trends, and help The Lotus develop a visual identity that's unmistakably its own.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone creative, curious, and truly excited about building something from the ground up.



You don't need to have decades of experience or a fancy job title to be a great fit. We care about your ideas, your eye for design, and your willingness to experiment.

You might be a great fit if you have:

- A robust interest in graphic design, typography, visual storytelling, and editorial design.
- An eye for colour, composition, layout, and the little details that bring a design together.
- Leadership and communication skills, including the ability to give constructive feedback and collaborate with a team.
- An interest in magazines, publishing, pop culture, storytelling, or creative media.
- Experience with design tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or other creative software.
- Basic familiarity with HTML and CSS, or an interest in learning how visual design translates to the web.
- A portfolio, personal project, school publication, social media account, or other work that shows off your creativity.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with vision. You don't need to tick every box to apply. If you have a strong creative instinct and ideas for what The Lotus could become, we'd love to hear from you.
