HVAC Service & Installation Manager
Katabatic HVAC | Whistler & the Sea to Sky
Help Build Something Bigger
Katabatic HVAC is looking for an experienced Qualified Refrigeration Technician with a B Gas ticket to step into a leadership and management role overseeing our service and installation operations across the Sea to Sky.
We’re looking for someone who knows the trade inside and out but is ready to move away from the tools and take ownership of the bigger picture. Someone who can lead people, organise operations, manage jobs, develop a strong crew, and help drive the business forward.
You’ll be working alongside a like-minded team with a strong work ethic and a shared ambition to build Katabatic into one of the most respected HVAC brands in the Sea to Sky. We want someone who takes pride in their work, has a hunger for growth, and sees this as an opportunity to help build something long-term.
The Role
This is a hands-on management position, not a hands-on tools position. Your focus will be leading the team, managing daily operations, ensuring jobs run efficiently, and maintaining the high standards our customers expect.
You will be responsible for coordinating service and installation crews, overseeing projects from scheduling through to completion, and ensuring our technicians have the support, materials, and direction they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage service and installation operations across residential and commercial HVAC projects.
- Lead and develop the team, setting expectations, supporting technicians, and building a strong company culture.
- Schedule and coordinate crews, ensuring labour, materials, equipment, and job timelines are properly organised.
- Oversee job performance and profitability, monitoring labour hours, material costs, productivity, and overall job delivery.
- Manage customer relationships, handling escalations, maintaining communication, and ensuring a high level of service.
- Coordinate with builders, general contractors, suppliers, and clients to keep projects running smoothly.
- Oversee quality control,
ensuring work meets company standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.
- Manage service workflows, including job prioritisation, callouts, maintenance scheduling, and follow-up work.
- Support estimating and project planning, reviewing scopes, identifying potential issues, and helping ensure jobs are priced and delivered correctly.
- Implement systems and processes that improve efficiency, accountability, and consistency across the business.
- Mentor and develop technicians and apprentices, helping build a capable, reliable, and motivated workforce.
- Take ownership of results, identifying opportunities to improve operations, grow revenue, and strengthen the Katabatic brand.
What We're Looking For
- A fully qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician.
- A valid B Gas ticket.
- Proven experience leading crews and managing HVAC service and installation operations.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- A solid understanding of job costing, labour management, scheduling, and project delivery.
- The ability to manage multiple jobs, competing priorities, and a busy team.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to make decisions and take responsibility.
- A strong work ethic and a genuine hunger for growth.
- Someone who holds people accountable while building a positive, supportive team environment.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding that successful jobs require both quality workmanship and sound financial management.
- The ability to lead from the front without needing to be on the tools every day.
Why Katabatic HVAC?
An opportunity to make a real impact.
This isn't a position where you'll simply be managing a schedule. You'll have a key role in shaping how the company operates and helping drive its next stage of growth.
- Leadership and ownership: Take responsibility for the performance and development of our service and installation teams.
- Room to grow: Help build the systems, processes, and people that will support our expansion.
- A strong team culture: Work with people who share your work ethic, take pride in their trade, and want to succeed together.
- Competitive compensation: A package that reflects your experience, leadership, and contribution to the business.
- Sea to Sky lifestyle: Live and work in Whistler and the surrounding region, with world-class skiing, mountain biking, and outdoor adventure on your doorstep.
- Long-term opportunity: Help establish Katabatic HVAC as a leading name in the region while developing your own career as a manager and leader.
Who Will Thrive Here?
We're looking for someone who wants more than just another job. You understand the HVAC industry, know what it takes to run a successful crew, and are ready to take responsibility for people, performance, and results.
You are organised, driven, commercially minded, and comfortable making decisions. You see problems as opportunities to improve, take initiative without waiting to be told what to do, and want to build a team that consistently delivers excellent work.
Most importantly, you have the ambition to help grow the business, not just manage what is already there.
If you're ready to step off the tools, take the lead, and help build something great with a like-minded crew, we want to hear from you.
Join Katabatic HVAC and help us take one of the Sea to Sky's growing HVAC brands to the next level.
