ALLIED AVIATION has a requirement for a GSE Technician
Located at: Gander, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada

Purpose

The GSE Technician will maintain and repair a wide range of specialty vehicles (ground support equipment).

This position is based in Gander and duties include:

- Provide preventative maintenance and repair to Ground Support Equipment (GSE); equipment includes gas and diesel-powered engines, aerial devices, hydraulic, electric and pneumatic and conveyor systems
- Perform routine service to equipment systems including fuel, cooling, lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor/loading, and related controls
- Inspect, maintain, and repair ground equipment used in the support of operations in accordance with manufacturer’s schedules and industry standards with an overall goal of zero unscheduled downtime during operations
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems using test equipment, applicable manuals, and industry resources
- Schedule and perform repairs or component overhaul to maintain all equipment per OEM standards
- Operate and test equipment for performance assessment
- Operate and maintain special test equipment and tools




- Ability to travel to other sites within Newfoundland & Labrador as necessary to perform routine maintenance and urgent repairs.

Qualifications:

- 1st, 2nd, 3rd year Apprentice or Journeyman mechanic
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in general automotive and/or heavy equipment repair
- Experience with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, aerial devices and electrical systems are an asset
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract, ability to obtain an Airport Restricted Area Pass
- (RAIC) and Vehicle Operations Permit (AVOP)
- Ability to lift 22.5 kgs repetitively, climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands
- Creative problem solving
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, excellent time management and multi- tasking skills with ability to prioritize in a demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour
