Sook Gourmet Provisions is a growing food manufacturer bringing the joy of bone broth to North America. We love making beautiful food and creating great products—and we’re building a small, fun, hard-working and caring team to make it happen.

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with a 4th Class Power Engineer certificate or higher to help get our facility ready for production and keep it running safely and reliably as we grow.

This is a hands-on role with variety. Initially, you’ll help with equipment setup, installation coordination, commissioning and facility readiness. Once production begins, you’ll take ownership of routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, working closely with our production and quality teams.

What you’ll do

- Maintain, inspect and troubleshoot food manufacturing equipment, including steam kettles, pumps, filling and packaging equipment.
- Operate and monitor boiler and pressure equipment within your certification and assigned responsibilities.
- Help install, set up and commission equipment, coordinating qualified contractors and licensed trades where required.
- Develop and carry out preventive maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose breakdowns, complete repairs within your qualifications and arrange specialist support when needed.
- Maintain equipment logs, service records, spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Follow safe isolation and lockout procedures and ensure equipment is clean, protected and ready before returning it to production.
- Work with production and QA to prevent contamination during maintenance and resolve equipment issues.
- Pitch in with practical facility improvements and setup tasks as part of a small startup team.

What you’ll bring

- A valid BC-recognized 4th Class Power Engineer certificate or higher.
- Hands-on experience maintaining pressure vessels, steam systems and food manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience with equipment installation, startup or commissioning.
- An understanding of food plant sanitation, hygienic maintenance and safe work practices.
- The judgment to know what you can safely repair yourself and when a qualified trade or specialist is needed.
- Good organization, reliable recordkeeping and the ability to prioritize work.
- A practical, cooperative approach and a willingness to help where needed.

Experience with retorts/autoclaves, refrigeration systems, pneumatic equipment or welding and fabrication would be an asset.

Why join Sook Provisions?

You’ll have a real hand in building the operation from the beginning. There will be equipment to set up, systems to improve and plenty of problems to solve. Startup life comes with changing priorities, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys that variety and takes pride in making things work well.

In return, you’ll join a crew that values good work, looks after one another and cares about the products we make. There’s room to contribute ideas and grow with the business.

Group benefits will be established within two months after plant production begins.
