Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as an Intermediate Civil Structural Engineer (Contract). In this position, you will provide technical oversight and engineering support for sustaining capital projects across pipeline facilities, pump stations, terminals, and related infrastructure. Acting as the Owner's representative, you will work closely with engineering consultants, EPC contractors, operations teams, and project stakeholders to ensure designs and construction activities are safe, compliant, practical, and aligned with project objectives.

This role supports projects through planning, design, construction, commissioning, and startup while helping maintain the integrity and reliability of critical energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Review and oversee civil and structural engineering deliverables prepared by consultants and EPC contractors.

Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and company engineering practices.

Provide technical input on site development, grading, drainage, foundations, structural steel, concrete structures,



earthworks, and rehabilitation of existing assets.

Participate in project planning, design reviews, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and multidisciplinary engineering discussions.

Collaborate with engineering, operations, environmental, and project teams to resolve technical issues and support project execution.

Support procurement activities through technical bid evaluations and vendor reviews.

Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and startup, including reviewing field changes, RFIs, and technical deviations.

Conduct site visits and field reviews to verify construction aligns with approved designs and quality requirements.

Support Management of Change (MOC) processes, regulatory submissions, permit applications, and project closeout activities.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta and/or British Columbia, or eligibility for registration.

7+ years of civil and structural engineering experience, preferably within the oil and gas, pipeline, energy, or industrial sectors.

Experience supporting brownfield and greenfield capital projects from design through construction and commissioning.

Strong knowledge of structural steel, concrete, foundations, grading, drainage, and earthworks.

Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, consultants, and operations stakeholders.

Familiarity with CSA Z662, Canadian engineering codes and standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to pipeline or i
