Provide technical guidance to traders, schedulers, optimization teams and operations, including review of product assays, certificates of analysis, new supply and treatment options.
Support the development and interpretation of commercial agreements, ensuring product-quality requirements and specifications are technically and commercially sound.
Lead investigations into off-spec products, measurement issues and quality disputes, including root-cause analysis,
corrective actions and oversight of third-party equalization calculations.
Provide clear recommendations on product quality, testing, blending and corrective actions, escalating matters requiring financial, operational, contractual or regulatory approval as appropriate.
Represent Cenovus on relevant industry technical committees and support company-wide and cross-border quality matters across multiple commodities, assets and third-party logistics systems.
Who you are Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada

Deep knowledge of petroleum specifications, sampling and testing methods, assays, blending, equalization, measurement, product treatment, and quality provisions within commercial transportation agreements.
Established industry credibility, including experience with technical committees and commercial contract development.
Strong understanding of oil and gas physical flows and interfaces across pipeline, terminal, rail, truck and marine transportation.
Demonstrated ability to investigate off-spec and measurement issues, conduct root-cause analysis, translate technical findings into commercial impacts, and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical, financial, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize complex work independently in a fast-paced environment.
