Capital Precast, a division of Newcrete is currently accepting applications for the following position:

Quality Control Technician

We have an chance for a Quality Control Technician for our CSA Certified Precast Plant at St. John’s, NL, for 3-6 months.

Duties

· Testing fresh properties of concrete to conform to CSA standards

· Casting and testing of concrete cylinders for compressive strength

· Sampling of aggregates

· Sieve analysis of concrete aggregates

· Documentation, data entry and approval of testing results

· Assists the Quality Team with coordination between construction and laboratory testing

· Ensure standards,



procedures and processes of testing are being followed

· Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to verify quantity and quality of product.

· Inspect precast formwork and reinforcement to comply to provided shop drawings.

Qualifications:

· Civil Engineering Tech or Equivalent

· Knowledge of testing concrete

· Preference will be given to Candidates with previous experience in working with CSA/CCIL approved laboratory.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Communicate and work well with others in a team environment.
