Alhidayah Islamic School

Alhidayah Islamic School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our elementary teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging English Language Arts instruction while supporting students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver English lessons aligned with the Ontario Curriculum and Alhidayah School’s academic expectations.
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, oral communication, and reading comprehension.
- Break down concepts clearly and use different teaching strategies to accommodate students with varying learning needs.
- Prepare engaging lessons that encourage student participation, discussion, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Provide guided and independent practice and regularly check students’ understanding.
- Prepare lesson plans, classwork, homework, assignments, projects, quizzes, and assessments.
- Assess student performance, maintain accurate records, and prepare progress reports and report cards.




- Identify students who require additional support or enrichment and provide appropriate strategies and practice.
- Collaborate with teachers and school administration to support student success and school initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, professional development, and other assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills

A university degree or relevant post-secondary education is preferred, along with teaching or classroom experience, particularly at the elementary level. Candidates should have strong English communication and writing skills, valuable classroom-management abilities, and the ability to explain concepts clearly and engage students effectively. Familiarity with the Ontario Curriculum is an asset.
