We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst/Accountant to join our financial services team. In this role, you will take ownership of accounting and financial reporting activities, with significant responsibility for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled accounting professional who wants to own key financial processes and contribute meaningfully to the accuracy and insight of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own and execute the full accounting and financial reporting cycle, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Perform account analysis, variance analysis, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP (US or Canadian, as applicable)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements relevant to financial services
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather data, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis, budgeting/forecasting inputs, and management reporting
- Maintain strong documentation and continuously improve close timelines and accuracy
- Act as a subject-matter expert on accounting matters and provide guidance as needed





Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Solid experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably within financial services, banking, insurance, or a similar regulated workplace
- Hands-on experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and take ownership of deliverables

Preferred Qualifications

- CPA designation from Canada (CPA) or the United States (CPA) — highly preferred
