We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join the firm's growing litigation group. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys complex commercial matters, direct client interaction, advocacy, and working within a supportive team environment.

The Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial litigation files while collaborating with experienced lawyers across multiple practice areas.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing files from initial client consultation through resolution, providing strategic legal advice, preparing litigation materials, and representing clients in a variety of commercial disputes.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented, and confident advocate who enjoys taking ownership of files, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the continued success of a growing legal practice.

Key Responsibilities





- Manage a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including contractual disputes, debt recovery, enforcement proceedings, and business-related disputes.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients regarding commercial conflicts, creditor remedies, insolvency-related matters, and recovery actions.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, applications, mediation materials, settlement documents, and other litigation-related documentation.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including motions, applications, discoveries, mediations, and trials.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide practical recommendations to clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and trusted legal advice.
- Collaborate with lawyers across related practice groups, including corporate, real estate, and insolvency.
- Manage files independently while ensuring deadlines, client expectations, and professional standards are consistently met.

Qualifications
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing commercial litigation.
- Experience handling complex commercial disputes, debt recovery, enforcement matters, insolvency, or related litigation.
- Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation,



and advocacy skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess legal issues and develop practical solutions.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Qualified, client-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality legal services.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
