Our provincial public-sector healthcare client is undergoing a major transformation, moving from multiple standalone systems to a single, unified provincial Clinical Information Solution (CIS). We are seeking a Senior Clinical IAM and Context Specialist to support the design, evaluation, and implementation of identity, authentication, and application integration capabilities.
The primary goal of this role is to ensure clinicians can securely and efficiently access the CIS and connected applications. This includes enabling single sign-on (SSO), tap-and-go access, maintaining patient context across systems, and ensuring session continuity as clinicians move between workstations and care settings.
Advantages
Long-Term Stability: 2-year firm contract with explicit paths up to 4 years total.
Clinical & System Impact: Directly shape standardized provincial care and systemic therapy delivery models.
Remote Flexibility: Work remotely from anywhere in Canada with pre-planned, structured monthly travel to New Brunswick.
Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy: Assess identity integration, authentication, and clinical access architectures; develop recommendations that align with clinical workflows and provincial standards.
Authentication Design: Evaluate and design single sign-on, federation, badge tap, remote access, and session management solutions for shared workstation environments.
Clinical Workflow Integration: Validate clinician access workflows, including contextual application launch, patient context synchronization, and session roaming across care settings.
Technical Integration & PoC: Develop detailed solution designs, lead proofs of concept (PoCs), and participate in integration testing,
troubleshooting, and pilot activities.
Application Modernization: Evaluate clinical applications for modernization opportunities, workflow dependencies, and readiness for CIS deployment.
Operational Readiness: Collaborate with operational teams to create support models, runbooks, and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions for a seamless transition to sustainment.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Informatics, or a similar discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Healthcare Environment Experience: in a hospital or clinical setting, with a strong understanding of how application access, contextual launch, and session management impact patient care and clinician efficiency.
IAM & Access Design: recent years of experience designing or assessing application access, authentication, identity integration, or clinical workflow solutions within large healthcare or enterprise environments.
Solution Architecture: recent years of experience developing solution architectures and conducting technical assessments involving multiple applications, identity services, and end-user technologies.
Stakeholder Alignment: recent years working directly with application owners, clinical stakeholders, and technical teams to align technology with operational needs.
System Implementation: 5+ years supporting large-scale system implementations through architecture reviews, deployment planning, testing, and go-live support.
