About the Role

A rapidly growing technology company based in Kimberley is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend and API development. Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs.
- Implement and adhere to API design best practices (e.g., RESTful principles).
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to define API requirements and integrations.
- Develop and manage database schemas and optimize database queries.
- Implement automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) to ensure code quality.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues and performance bottlenecks.




- Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions.
- Stay current with emerging backend technologies and best practices.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, Go, or C#.
- Extensive experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture patterns.
- Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
