Meet the Team
The Delivery Orchestration Platform (DOP) team is the engine behind how Splunk's products reach customers — we own the fulfillment and provisioning systems that turn a signed contract into a live Splunk product deployment. Our work sits at the heart of Splunk's go-to-market delivery pipeline, connecting the systems and teams that make customer onboarding happen reliably and at scale. We're a team of engineers who operate with high autonomy, take end-to-end ownership of our systems, and move fast without sacrificing reliability. Right now is an exciting time to join — we're actively modernizing our fulfillment architecture toward a next-generation Order Management Platform that will reshape how Splunk delivers its entire product portfolio.
Your Impact
Lead the design and delivery of backend services and APIs that automate order fulfillment, provisioning workflows, and delivery orchestration for Splunk customers globally. Drive features end-to-end — from technical design through production — coordinating across teams to meet requirements and ship reliably. Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to reliability, security, and operational excellence to keep our systems trustworthy and performant. Participate in on-call rotation, lead postmortems, and drive systemic improvements that make our platform more resilient over time. Success looks like features that ship on schedule, systems that stay up, and a fulfillment platform that gets faster and more capable every quarter.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree + 7 years of related experience, or Master's + 4 years, or PhD + 1 year in software engineering or a related technical field
- Prior experience with backend technologies such as Go or Python, including building and operating distributed systems and APIs
- Prior experience leading projects end-to-end with minimal guidance, taking ownership from design through delivery and post-launch operations
- Applied experience building and operating services on cloud infrastructure in a production environment
- Applied experience coordinating across cross-functional teams, tracking milestones, and communicating progress and risks to stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with order management, entitlements, or provisioning systems in a SaaS or cloud environment
- Prior experience with Kubernetes-native deployments and cloud-native infrastructure patterns
- Prior experience mentoring — you give substantive code reviews and make the engineers around you better
- Applied experience operating with high autonomy where ownership is broad and you drive your own work forward
- Previous background with proactively identifying reliability gaps or technical debt and driving improvements without being asked
