- CA$32.29 / hour Department: Schools Reports to: Principal Wage: $30.97–$32.29 per hour Summary With direction from a teacher, the Education Assistant supports individual students and small groups with academic and behavioural activities in accordance with education plans. The role also includes monitoring students during unstructured times. Duties Support students with health procedures, life skills, communication activities, and specific academic or behavioural practice. Assist with instructional materials, note-taking, tests, assignments, and student records. Monitor student behaviour and safety, report concerns, and supervise students during breaks, school activities, and bus transfers as assigned. Accompany students to community activities and assist with school events and field trips.



Administer medication as assigned and attend to minor injuries. Qualifications Grade 12 education and six college or university courses related to learning or behavioural issues in children or youth. One year of related experience supporting children or youth with exceptional needs in a school, hospital, or recognized community agency. Ability to follow individualized education plans, perform child-specific behaviour management techniques, maintain confidentiality, and work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A valid British Columbia driver's licence may be required.
