We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Senior Software Developer who embrace AI-assisted software development as part of their everyday engineering practice to join our engineering team. The SAP Customer Experience – Order Management Services (SAP CX OMS) unit builds and maintains high-quality cloud-native microservices. These microservices manage the order lifecycle and work closely with SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP S/4HANA. What You'll Do

You will design and build scalable application systems independently. These systems will include AI-native components. They will also feature advanced RAG pipelines and multi-agent workflows. Evaluation and benchmarking frameworks to measure AI system quality, reliability, and performance are things you'll build and own. You'll optimize latency, throughput, and cost efficiency across systems. Observability and SRE practices, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis, are areas you'll implement and improve. You'll partner with platform, data, and AI teams to design robust, production-ready solutions and improve system integration.



System scalability, resilience, and maintainability are areas you'll continuously work to strengthen.

You will use AI-powered development tools to accelerate software delivery. From comprehending requirements and exploring designs to generating code, creating tests, debugging, documenting, and improving existing services.

- Design, develop, and test complex, scalable and performant cloud-native microservices for SAP's Order Management platform
- Participate in full-sprint cycles: refinement, development, code review, and deployment
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests to ensure production-grade quality
- Own technical quality: establish coding standards, lead code reviews, and champion test automation practices
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and apply DevOps practices to automate build, test, deployment, and operational processes (SAP BTP, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions)
- Collaborate with architects, developers, product managers and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Monitor application health, performance, and reliability and proactively address issues. Troubleshoot complex production issues across application, integration, and infrastructure layers; drive root cause analysis and permanent fixes
- Support technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
- Use AI-assisted development tools every day.



These tools help accelerate development. They also ensure high standards for architecture, security, performance, reliability, and maintainability. Review, validate, test, and improve AI-generated code rather than blindly accepting it
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and actively explore how new tools can improve engineering productivity. Define and enforce team-level standards for AI-assisted development. Bring recommendations to the team with a clear cost/benefit view

What You Bring

You have deep experience in distributed systems and scalable application design, with strong hands‑on skills in LLMs, advanced RAG patterns, and agentic workflows. Proficiency in system design for scale, resiliency, and fault tolerance is required. Strong experience in performance optimization, cost management, and troubleshooting complex production systems is essential. A solid understanding of SRE principles, observability (logs, metrics, tracing), and incident management is expected. Experience designing evaluation frameworks for AI systems, validating model behavior, and applying agentic engineering patterns is critical. Technical leadership and mentoring ability are also part of what you'll bring.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent functional experience
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar in a professional setting. Deep, functional fluency with AI developer tools across the full SDLC (design, coding, testing, observability) and awareness of the limitations and
