LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

This is a remote position.

Key Tasks

- Perform general ledger reconciliations, including fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts.
- Perform general accounting cleanup, account reconciliations (many never done before), month-end close, and fixing of legacy issues.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies and ensure financial statement accuracy.
- Clean and organize supporting financial records and documentation.
- Support the month-end close process and preparation of journal entries.
- Analyze and correct accounting entries, with full understanding of their impact on financial statements.
- Support SSC leadership with reporting and ad hoc financial tasks.
- Roll up sleeves for detailed investigative work, including reconstructing fixed asset listings from up to 10 years of data and populating Excel.
- Support entity merges, AP, procurement, and the Oracle transition as needed.

Key Qualifications

- Experience supporting complex general ledger reconciliations, with a focus on fixed assets and other key balance sheet accounts.
- Strong foundation in accounting principles and experience working in a dynamic, fast-changing environment supporting multiple entities.
- Experience supporting the month-end close process and preparation of journal entries.

Qualifications

- Progressive accounting experience, with solid reconciliation and GL experience.
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting month-end close and reporting processes.
- Strong grasp of how balance sheet adjustments affect financial statements.




- Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems is an asset.
- CPA designation is a plus, but not required.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment.
- Confident working with senior people.

Compensation

Hourly Rate Negotiable. This is an existing position vacancy.
