Senior Audit Associate
Location: West GTA, Ontario

Our client is a full-service CPA firm and one of the leading independent firms in the GTA, serving entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses, corporate subsidiaries, and not-for-profit organizations.

The Role
As a Senior Audit Associate, you will manage larger and more complex engagements and continue to advance your technical knowledge. You will gain greater exposure within the firm and externally through elevated client interactions. The role involves building outstanding client relationships, delivering an exceptional client experience, and showing leadership by mentoring, coaching, and training other team members.

Responsibilities

- Take a lead role in completing audit and review engagements of financial statements for private businesses, including preparing corporate tax returns in line with industry standards and guidelines
- Independently complete Notice to Reader engagements, including preparing corporate income tax returns
- Research accounting issues under ASPE and ASNFPO and recommend the proposed accounting treatment




- Manage competing deadlines for multiple partners and managers while providing quality service to clients
- Provide guidance to junior team members
- Show ongoing progress toward the competencies for your level

Qualifications

- CPA, CA (Audit) designation
- 1 year at the Senior level or 2 years at the Intermediate level of public accounting audit experience across a variety of industries, preferably in a small to mid-size firm
- Proficiency with CaseWare/CaseView and TaxPrep
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
- Demonstrated technical accounting skills and research capabilities
- Strong client service and communication skills
