Job Summary Grasby’s Art Studio, a vibrant creative hub in Calgary’s Bowness community since 2011, is seeking a dynamic Sales & Community Engagement Coordinator (or Sales & Marketing Specialist) to drive growth in our core offerings. This role focuses on boosting enrollment and revenue through targeted sales efforts for our diverse programs and events.

Position Overview

Job Title: Sales & Community Engagement Coordinator

Location: Grasby Art Studio, 6520 Bowness Road NW, Calgary, AB

Employment Type: Full-time (preferred) or Part time (with flexible hours, including some evenings/weekends for events)

Reports to: Studio Owner/Director

Compensation: Competitive base salary + performance-based commission on sales targets (classes, events, tickets, gallery sales) + potential bonuses for exceeding quarterly goals

We are looking for a passionate, outgoing individual with a genuine love for the arts who excels at building relationships, promoting creative experiences, and closing sales. You will play a key role in increasing participation in our adult, kids, and teen art classes, generating interest in our Grasby Art Cellar gallery (featuring local and student/instructor artwork), and driving bookings for private events, paint nights, action art sessions, and ticketed experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Actively sell and promote enrollment in ongoing and seasonal art classes/workshops for:

- Adults (beginners to intermediate, including monthly ongoing classes and specialized workshops like painting, drawing, mixed media)

- Kids (various age groups,



including camps and after-school programs)

- Teens (ages 13-18, focused on skill-building in a supportive environment)

- Market and sell tickets for popular ticketed events, including paint nights, action art sessions, themed workshops, and drop-in experiences

- Generate leads and secure bookings for private/group events (corporate team-building, birthday parties, special occasions) at the studio

- Build excitement and drive foot traffic/sales for the Grasby Art Cellar gallery through promotions, social media features, in-studio displays, and events (e.g., openings, artist spotlights)

- Develop and execute sales strategies, including outreach to local businesses, schools, community groups, and families in NW Calgary and beyond

- Track sales metrics, follow up on leads, process registrations/payments, and maintain accurate records in our booking system

- Host or assist with open houses, demo sessions, gallery events, and promotional activities to convert visitors into customers

- Build and nurture community partnerships to expand reach and cross-promote offerings

Qualifications & Skills

- Proven sales experience (1-3+ years), ideally in retail, hospitality, education, events,



fitness/yoga studios, or creative industries where selling experiences/classes/tickets is key
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with diverse groups (parents, kids, teens, adults, corporate clients)
- Outgoing, enthusiastic personality with a passion for art/creativity (prior art experience or teaching background is a strong asset, but not required)
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with event promotion, community outreach, or lead generation is highly desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events/paint nights
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (to support local outreach if needed)
- Bonus: Familiarity with Calgary’s NW communities (Bowness and surrounding areas) or local arts scene
