Commercial Printing Sales Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Printing Sales Manager to lead and support our growing sales team. This role is ideal for a hands-on print professional who understands quoting, production workflows, and customer communication, and can coach a team to deliver accurate, high-quality work.

You will oversee a team of 7-10 staff consisting of Account Managers, CSRs, and Sales Representatives, ensuring sales processes are followed, work orders and estimates are accurate, and client expectations are clearly communicated to production.

This position also serves as a key liaison between the Sales team and the VP and President , helping align sales activities with operational capacity and company goals.

Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Coaching

- Manage, mentor, and support a team of 7-10 sales and customer service staff
- Provide process clarification, sales strategy guidance, and communication coaching
- Ensure team members are properly qualifying opportunities and setting realistic timelines

Work Order Accuracy & Workflow

- Review and verify work orders for accuracy before submission to senior leadership
- Ensure all job details, specifications, and production notes are complete and transparent
- Reduce errors by enforcing standardized quoting and order entry procedures

Sales Strategy & Performance

- Assist the team with pricing strategy, margin control, and upselling opportunities
- Monitor pipeline activity and help drive revenue growth
- Support complex quotes and large commercial opportunities

Customer Engagement





- Handle new customer inquiries via in-person meetings, phone calls, and web leads
- Develop strong client relationships and ensure a high level of service
- Step in to support escalated accounts or complex projects when required

Cross-Department Communication

- Act as the primary liaison between Sales and VP/President
- Align sales commitments with production capacity and lead times
- Help improve internal communication between sales, prepress, and production

Qualifications :

- Minimum 10 years of commercial printing sales experience :

- Strong knowledge of quoting, production processes, and print specifications :

- Proven leadership experience managing a sales or CSR team

- Excellent customer communication and problem-solving skills

- Highly organized with strong attention to detail

- Ability to enforce process standards while maintaining a positive team culture
