Service Technician - Subcontractor Position - Full time $35-45 p/hour

Job Overview

Harbour City Kitchens is seeking experienced subcontractors for a service technician role in the Greater Victoria area. We are specifically looking for a contractor who takes pride in their work, delivers professional service, and are comfortable working in residential construction and renovation environments.

The Position : Responsible for inspection, repairing and completing and finishing adjustments on installed kitchen cabinetry and related products. This role ensures that all installations meet company quality standards and customer expectations, addressing deficiencies, warranty items, and service requests in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Perform onsite inspections of completed kitchen installations to identify deficiencies or required adjustments
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to cabinetry, hardware, countertops and installation workmanship
- Complete touch ups, alignments, adjustments, and repairs (e.g. Door’s drawers’ panels and trim)
- Address warranty and service calls efficiently while maintaining high customer satisfaction
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding service timelines, expectations a completed work
- Document service visits, including issues identified, work performed and materials used
- Coordinate with installation teams, production staff, and project managers to resolve recurring issues




- Follow all workplace safety standards and company policies
- Receive and complete work orders provided by the service department
- Handle schedule service calls to repair damage, fix mistakes and ensure client satisfaction
- Coordinate with service dept to report material shortages, replacement snag deficiencies
- Maintain accurate records of time, materials and expenses to submit to service manager

Qualifications

- 2 + years of Previous cabinet installation experience is a must
- strong understanding of kitchen cabinet systems, hardware and installation methods
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently on site
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawing sand installation plans
- Strong communication skills and excellent customer service abilities
- Solid attention to details and commitment to quality workmanship
- Installers must provide their own safety gear and adhere to WorkSafe BC guidelines
- Provide their own WorkSafe BC coverage
- Physically fit and able to lift, carry, and install cabinetry which may include tall pieces.
