Intermediate / Senior Staff Accountant
Location: Greater Toronto Area, Ontario

About the Firm
Our client is a public accounting firm offering a mix of large and small assurance and non-assurance engagements. It is looking for an Intermediate or Senior Staff Accountant who wants to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities

- Participate in planning and preparing client year-end files for owner-managed businesses, including audit, review, and compilation/NTR engagements
- Prepare and/or review financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
- Work with personal, corporate, and trust tax returns
- Prepare information filings such as T4s and T5s
- Prepare special reports and analyses, such as financial forecasts or projections
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff
- Help develop firm standards
- Interact professionally with clients and staff

Qualifications

- CPA, CA, or equivalent designation




- 2½ to 5 years of public accounting experience, including assurance, NTR, and tax engagements, preferably in a small to mid-size firm
- Experience with investment holding company accounting and tax return preparation is a excellent asset
- Thorough knowledge of ASPE, ASNFPO, and CAS
- Some understanding of IFRS is desirable but not mandatory
- Working knowledge of CCH, CaseWare, CaseView, and TaxPrep
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Professional demeanor
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate staff
