Audit Manager
Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario

About the Role
Our client, a public accounting firm in downtown Toronto, is looking for an Audit Manager to manage multiple assurance and advisory engagements at once, including planning, staffing, conducting, and reviewing the work, while maintaining robust client relationships. You will lead a team serving existing clients and help drive the firm’s growth through repeat business.

Responsibilities

- Build relationships with client management and become a year-round contact
- Understand clients’ operations, key performance drivers, and industry developments, and provide value-added consulting
- Identify sales and cross-sales opportunities and take part in business development
- Plan, supervise, and monitor multiple audit, review, and compilation engagements
- Review files and tax returns, and analyze and document problem areas with proposed solutions




- Follow up with clients and get work in the door
- Review WIP and prepare invoices
- Supervise, coach, and mentor junior staff, and help with recruiting and training
- Help improve internal processes such as scheduling and workflow
- Take part in performance evaluations

Qualifications

- CPA or equivalent professional designation
- 4 to 5 years of public practice or equivalent experience, preferably in a mid-sized accounting firm
- Strong leadership, technical, and client service skills
