Tax Principal
Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario

About the Role
Our client, a public accounting firm in downtown Toronto, is looking for a Tax Principal to manage personal, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns for clients across diverse industries. You will lead a team serving existing clients and drive growth through repeat business and special tax projects.

Responsibilities

- Build client relationships at the management level and serve as a year-round contact
- Understand clients’ operations and business drivers, and provide value-added consulting services
- Identify sales and cross-sales opportunities and take part in business development
- Review complex T1, T2, T3, and other returns prepared by tax and assurance staff




- Develop and deliver timely tax planning strategies for clients
- Supervise, coach, and train tax staff, and help recruit and develop team members
- Review WIP and prepare invoices
- Meet 1,200 to 1,300 chargeable hours; an existing client portfolio is an asset
- Stay current on tax legislation
