Senior Tax Manager
Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario

About the Role
Our client, a mid-sized public accounting firm in downtown Toronto, is looking for a Senior Tax Manager to manage personal, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns for clients across diverse industries. You will lead a team serving existing clients, drive growth through repeat business and special tax projects, and help expand the practice by winning new clients and developing current services.

Responsibilities

- Serve as the primary contact for client management
- Review T1, T2, T3, and other returns and tax elections prepared by junior staff
- Develop and deliver value-added tax planning strategies for clients
- Supervise, coach, and train junior tax staff, and help recruit and develop Managers
- Identify business development and cross-sell opportunities and help win new clients
- Review WIP, prepare invoices, and monitor engagement profitability




- Plan and deliver internal projects and technical training for the firm
- Meet annual targets of 1,200 chargeable hours and 900 non-chargeable hours, plus an origination target

Qualifications

- CPA or equivalent designation, or a post-secondary degree in business or finance
- Completion of the In-Depth Tax Course (or equivalent)
- 7+ years of public practice or equivalent experience, preferably in a mid-sized firm
- 5+ years of tax experience
- Leadership, strong technical expertise, and business development skills, with a path to Tax Principal
