Occhiolino blends the feeling of Tuscan sun on your face with the buzz of a lively city noodle joint. Guests can swing by for a quick and comforting bowl of fresh, handmade pasta, or linger with friends over a table full of Italian classics. It’s a spot where the energy is contagious, the food is artisanal, and every visit feels like a vacation. Occhiolino also has retail offerings including fresh pastas and sauces to take home and make magic in your home kitchen.

We are located at College and Bathurst St.-steps from Kensington, Little Italy, U of T, and are easily reachable by streetcar and subway.

Occhiolino will be opening soon and we are currently hiring Hosts! We are looking to add 2 more hosts to our team, with strong daytime, weekday availability.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
- Manage reservations on Open Table, including confirmation calls
- Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas
- Understand and be able to communicate guest questions regarding menus, reservation policies and event inquiries




- Ensure menus are clean and organized
- Thank guests upon their departure
- Communicate to wait staff any OpenTable reservation notes (special occasion, dietary requirements, etc.)
- Maintain a clean reception and retail area
- Be mindful of guests who require additional support (e.g. guests needing mobility assistance etc.)
- Assist wait staff as needed
- Complete opening, closing and side-duties efficiently and safely
- Other duties as assigned or required
- Ensure compliance to all Occhiolino policies, standards and core practice

QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in a rapid-paced restaurant/bar is an asset
- SmartServe Certified
- A Degree/ Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent considered an asset
- Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and prioritize competing priorities
