Glen Hill Gardens is a brand-new, state-of-the-art long-term care home in Bowmanville, proudly operated by Durham Christian Homes, opening late spring 2026. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and enhancing the quality of life for seniors through compassionate service, innovation, and a resident-centered approach.

We are currently seeking a Cook to join our Dietary Team and play a key role in delivering high-quality, nutritious, and enjoyable meals to our residents.

Primary Responsibilities Include :

- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with therapeutic diets and planned menus
- Ensure meals are presented attractively and served on time
- Follow standardized recipes, production sheets, and food safety practices
- Participate in menu planning, special events, and themed meal days
- Monitor food quality, inventory, and storage practices
- Support a Pleasurable Dining experience for residents
- Assist with mealtime service and ensure resident satisfaction
- Provide leadership and support to dietary staff when required
- Maintain accurate documentation (e.g., temperatures, menu changes)
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Long-Term Care standards

What You Bring :





- Completion of a Cook/Culinary Arts program
- Current Food Handler Certification
- Experience in large quantity food preparation (long-term care or healthcare preferred)
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety regulations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and lead when needed

Conditions of Employment

- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 6 months)
- Compliance with COVID-19 Immunization Policy
- Proof of 2-Step TB Test or Chest X-Ray, as per Ministry requirements

Pay: From $25.37 per hour
