The Delivery Manager is the primary person responsible for delivery of product to customers, transport of goods from vendors as needed, and transport of goods between work locations. The Driver is also responsible for the care and operation of Water and Ice Co. vehicles to fulfill the daily delivery requirements.
DUTIES
- Manage delivery route planning and frequency of service by delivery density by area and update company tracking software.
- Oversee all production at the Production Facility including water bottling and ice manufacturing.
- Schedule production lines to meet delivery requirements in an efficient manner.
- Schedule full and part time staff to ensure operation and delivery labour requirements are met.
- Facilitate customer onboarding by providing delivery dates by customer area and type to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
- Safe operation of company machinery and vehicles for the production or goods transport.
- Loading and unloading of product from vehicles to and from assigned locations.
- Completion of daily logbooks of vehicle activity.
- Inspection of vehicles to ensure safe operating condition prior to each trip.
- Care and cleaning of company vehicles.
- Deliver finished product to customer site as well as pick-up and delivery of items required by the business.
- Inventory tracking of delivered and received items.
- Assisting production staff with manufacturing as needed.
- Ensure Preventative Maintenance schedules are followed, verify maintenance work is done to expected standards.
- Schedule maintenance work as needed.
- Develop procedures and checklists as needed.
- Ensure OH&S; best practices are followed and work with management team to ensure continuous improvement.
- Participate in Owner/Management team meetings to report department status, communicate with team members effectively, and ensure business growth.
Other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
- Prior forklift/palletizer experience an asset
- Prior Driving Experience an Asset
- Familiarity with inventory tracking an asset
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
- Ability to lift 44 pounds repeatedly
- Familiarity with inventory tracking
