The Opportunities : These positions perform a wide range of duties in support of the City’s Parks department, including: general parks maintenance, gardening, manual labouring and litter control. Seasonal position, starting date will be around May 4th, 2026, and ending around August 28, 2026. Hours are Monday to Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm. May include weekends, and holidays as needed.
Are self-motivated, reliable, and responsible, with knowledge of safe work procedures in a parks environment. Must have the ability to work outside in various weather conditions, exert continuous physical effort and work well with your co-workers.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Abilities :
- Operators require experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance and operating related equipment
- Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with coworkers
- Considerable skill and knowledge in plant health and identification
- Considerable skill in the proper and protected operation of a variety of hand and power tools, including riding and hand mowers, weed eaters, light duty trucks and other related equipment
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s Licence with a satisfactory driving record
Preferred Qualifications :
- Gardening positions: a diploma in landscaping or horticulture would be an asset
Wage Rates :$19.34 - $28.00 depending on education, experience and the position (40 hours per week).
