Job Summary Reporting to the Fitness Coordinator, the Zumba® Instructor is accountable for planning, implementing and facilitating safe, effective, and motivating Zumba® classes. Instructs engaging fitness classes in accordance with the Town program standards (outlined by the Town and by governing bodies within the fitness industry) Performs administrative tasks necessary to support the program i.e. takes attendance, ensures participants sign-in, monitors pay-go passes for non-member participants, records participant counts. Monitors program space and equipment condition and reports any housekeeping or safety concerns to Fitness Coordinator or Active Living Supervisor. Zumba® Instructor certification. Minimum 1 year in the fitness industry teaching Zumba® and/or leadership skills and a combination of training, education and experience deemed equivalent. Extensive knowledge of Zumba® choreography, exercise prescription/modifications and program planning. Maintains a high level of physical fitness as required to perform the role. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
