Serco provides fire and emergency services at the base and seeks a firefighter for full time service. The work includes structural firefighting, aircraft rescue firefighting, and annual ARFF recertification under STANAG 7145. Candidates must meet qualification, medical, fitness, licensing, education, and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide structural firefighting at 5 Wing Goose Bay
- Perform aircraft rescue firefighting duties
- Complete annual ARFF recertification under STANAG 7145
- Pass annual firefighter medical testing
- Pass annual physical fitness testing
Requirements:
- Firefighter qualification at minimum 5A level
- EMR 2 qualification meeting Newfoundland and Labrador standards
- Class 3 Newfoundland and Labrador licence with air brakes
- Enhanced Reliability clearance, potentially Secret Level II
- Post-secondary education
