Diagnose and repair diverse vehicle systems as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic with Transdev Canada in Abbotsford, BC. This unionized position includes scheduled and on-call assignments.
Transdev Canada seeks a Heavy Duty Mechanic to maintain secure, reliable, community-serving transit vehicles. You will inspect diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel injection, suspension, brake, drivetrain, steering, and transmission systems, and document completed work accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, safety, and annual vehicle inspections
- Diagnose and repair diverse vehicle and equipment systems
- Complete oil changes, tire replacements, lubrication, and servicing
- Overhaul and reinstall mechanical components with minimal supervision
- Complete work orders, reports, and maintenance records accurately
Requirements:
- Red Seal certification in an eligible mechanic trade
- Valid BC Class 5 licence with Air Brake Endorsement
- Air Brake Certification and CVIP Certification or eligibility
- Diesel and gasoline vehicle repair experience
- Mechanic’s tools and computerized diagnostic experience
