Position Overview

Title: Security Guard Industrial
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $23.00 - $25.50 per hour
Site: Container Terminal
Schedule: 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, and Weekends

Site Overview

Located in Prince Rupert, this industrial container terminal is a vital hub supporting port-related logistics and trade services. The facility operates under strict regulatory standards, requiring reliable security oversight to protect staff, assets, and secure access points throughout daily marine and land operations.

What You'll Be Doing

Conducting regular static and mobile patrols of the facility to maintain overall site integrity.

Managing access control points to ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles enter secure areas.

Monitoring CCTV systems, access control systems, and alarm panels.

Identifying and addressing hazards, obstacles, and traffic concerns around the terminal.

Writing detailed, objective incident reports and maintaining operational logs.

Complying with all Marine Transportation Security Regulations.

Must Haves

- Valid BC Security Licence
- Ability to obtain and maintain Transportation Security Clearance through the Marine Transportation Security Clearance Program
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Ability to complete required background checks and security clearances
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods

Nice-to-Haves

- Basic First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain it
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Experience handling confidential or sensitive information with discretion
