Next Patch Studio is a game development studio born from a group of graduates who answered the lack of opportunities for juniors in the industry with creating their own. We've worked with each other for 3 years and hope to continue for a long time. We have big hopes for the studio to become a place where newcomers to the industry can receive the training they need to improve.

As we are building the studio, our projects function on a volunteer basis for now. However, we will pay for the licenses of software that you require for the position. We currently use Unreal Engine, Blender, Substance Painter and Substance Designer. If interested, there is potential for other programs such as Houdini, Material Maker, Armor Paint, PureRef and Gaea.

We are looking for 1-2 part-time 3D Environment Artist to join our studio remotely and help us release our first game, CYTE. We are looking for juniors, students, graduates and newcomers The candidate we are looking does not need to be skilled in the entire 3D pipeline, if you have any of the skills we are interested in, we encourage you to apply.

The skills we are looking for:

- Hard-surface modeling for level architecture and/or props
- UV unwrapping
- Texturing

Bonus points:

- Asset placement
- LOD creation
- Lighting

- Making basic material graphs
- Rigging and light animations

Other skills may be relevant to help cover gaps in the studio.

Apply if you are looking for:

- Supported training with regular feedback, reviews and hands-on help. We want to help train the game developers of tomorrow, and so we are heavily focused on providing training and free access to courses, books and resources to help your growth.
- An accessible qualified project with thorough documentation, defined pipelines and structure to allow you to focus on what you are interested in most.
- A studio you can take part in building and defining.
- Project experience and portfolio pieces to improve yourself.

The project you would be working on is CYTE, a first-person movement-based game set in a hyper-futuristic universe. We have a handful of different environments that vary from structures to natural, but nothing organic. You will focus on level architecture and move towards props later in the project.

We do not require a polished portfolio, but please make sure any work you have that represents your skills is available along with a resume and a cover letter explaining the skills you are interested in.
