I am currently searching for a part-time nanny to pick up my two children (8 years old and 5 years old ) from school at 2:30 on weekdays, and provide childcare in our own home until 5pm, starting June 1 until June 29th. In addition, we're looking for this person to provide full-time care for 3 days a week between July 6- July 31.
My 8-year-old has autism, and challenges with social interactions, sensory situations (in particular physical touch is to be avoided), and flexible thinking. Accordingly, he requires someone who is adaptable, patient, willing to follow his lead and accommodate him.
Preference may be given to those with experience working with children who have special needs. You must have your own transportation to get here, and being punctual/reliable is essential as you'll be picking up the kids from school. We live less than 300 metres from the school, so it is a short walk to bring my children home.
I will sometimes be in the home, working from my home office during this time.



During childcare, activities you could do together would generally include playing video games, playing lego together, reading, crafting and/or playing outside. The kids are allowed some screen time after school, and we would request that you use this time to do some dishwashing in the kitchen.
Please note that there are also opportunities for this position to "grow" and include occasional requests for ad-hoc childcare on weekends or evenings (with no obligation), and this position has the possibility of expanding into a Monday-Friday, 2:30-5PM position for the next school year.
