Operate winter road equipment for The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, using a D-Z licence and heavy equipment experience. This temporary assignment runs November 1 to April 2, 2027.
Reporting to the Patrol Supervisor, the Winter Equipment Operator II operates several equipment types and supports County road systems. Duties include driving a six-ton minimum dump truck with snow plow and sander equipment, ploughing, salting, maintenance, and general road work. Paid One-Person Snow Plow Operator training is offered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate dump trucks with snow plows and sanders
- Plough and salt County roads during winter months
- Steam culverts and maintain winter fleet equipment
- Replace cross-culverts and perform road repairs
- Complete deficiency paperwork and required repairs
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid D-Z driver’s licence
- Three years of progressive heavy equipment experience
- Physical ability to perform heavy labour
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and repair
