Litigation Associate

Vancouver | Three to five years of experience

Olthuis van Ert is seeking a litigation associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Vancouver office.

We are a boutique litigation firm focused on commercial litigation and public law. We advise and represent clients in all levels of provincial and federal courts and tribunals.

Responsibilities

- Drafting pleadings, chambers applications, and written argument
- Conducting legal research
- Advising and reporting to clients
- Conducting examinations for discovery and managing discovery processes
- Representing clients in administrative proceedings, court proceedings, mediations and settlement negotiations
- Supervising support staff
- Networking and building relationships to grow your practice

Qualifications

- A record of solid academic achievement
- Superior research and writing skills, and clear, persuasive oral advocacy




- A genuine interest in developing a long-term litigation practice in a boutique setting
- Sound judgment and a practical, client-focused approach to resolving disputes
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing files and deadlines
- Initiative, professionalism, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively

What We Offer We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including annual discretionary bonus, extended health and dental benefits, life and disability insurance, and a wellness allowance.

Salary range: $150,000 to $175,000 depending on year of call and experience.
