LOCATION: School District 78 (Fraser-Cascade)

Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz, Hope, Boston Bar

HOURLY RATE: $ 31.02 Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Operations & Transportation, operates a school bus and supervises passengers.

Duties And Responsibilities

- Operates vehicle and ensures safety.
- Transports students and/or school personnel to/from schools and on local, out-of-town and overnight field trips.
- Directs and monitors all students to ensure compliance with secure loading, riding and unloading procedures.
- Supervises and monitors the conduct and behaviour of students and reports any misconduct in accordance with school board policy.
- Performs first aid and communicates appropriate information to school administration and transportation staff.
- Conducts pre-and post-trip inspections of bus in accordance with transportation guidelines and legislation and reports defects.
- Performs minor emergency repairs.
- Ensures interior and exterior cleanliness and regularly fuels bus.




- Secures bus at the end of each day.
- Monitors two-way radio.
- To maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information seen or heard.
- All employee conduct must be in compliance with school district policies and provincial legislation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Annual medical clearance
- Two years of professional driving experience in buses or large vehicles
- Class 2 driver's licence with air brake endorsement, and driver's abstract
- Level One First Aid
- Up to date Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Sufficient strength and stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
